Experience

Sterling is a new firm; the experience behind it is not.

The work below was run by the founder in previous roles, on transactions up to $150m in the UK, Europe and Asia. None of it is a Sterling mandate.

Corporate finance

At a UK M&A boutique, the founder ran sale processes for businesses from £5m to £35m across engineering, distribution, fintech and professional services, with MBO and EOT structuring. Among them, as part of the deal team, the completed sale of a UK and Ireland commercial refrigeration and HVAC distribution business to a European trade buyer in the sector. Earlier, sell-side and valuation work for manufacturers and retailers in Asia.

Private equity and debt finance

Before advisory, private equity investments of $5m to $15m, from diligence and valuation to documentation and post-investment monitoring, and debt syndications of $37m and $47m with a multilateral lender as principal.

All of the above was undertaken in previous roles, within deal teams, and is described here as the founder’s experience rather than as the firm’s record.
